The Tullimbah Land Care group work every fourth Saturday of the month & 2nd Monday of the month starting at 9am. The reserve is an endangered community & the vegetation is illawarra Subtropical Rainforest we also have several endangered species Zieria granulata. Also found in the reserve is Omalanthus stillingifolius and Brachychiton populneus classified as regionally rare flora. The Tullimbah Land Care Group is a small but committed group. Meeting twice a month to undertake restoration activities. Including weed removal & native planting on National Tree Day. Because of the good regenerating happening we only required planting once a year.

Lake Charm is a Ramsar listed wetland in the Kerang Wetland system. Lake Charm is also a unified community that works together on a variety of projects. They are addressing the environmental concerns of the area through a unified front.

Lake Charm is an extended but small community steeped in pride and history. We are considered to be part of the Northern Mallee and Murray Outback situated 25km north of Kerang along the Murray Valley Highway, in the Shire of Gannawarra and are part of the Torrumbarry Irrigation System (An area heavily involved in The Living Murray and Green Paper issues).


Once an agricultural base we now also include weekenders, holiday homes,permanent small and large housing blocks residents and tourists. Lake Charm Region is a hidden oasis, which has been regarded as the Kakadu of Victoria. It basks in environmental beauty and extends its recreational delights. It is an area often over looked, even though it is just a step off the highway. Yet many tourists call this their second home and revisit the area annually.


The group has been proactive in the development of many projects which encourages communication, sharing of ideas and working together.


The group encourages local pride and to respect and think of our area as more than just recreation lakes.


Lake Charm Landcare Group is a formal body which will:

Address the environmental concerns of the Lake Charm district through a unified front


Encourage local people to communicate, sharing ideas and work together


Strengthen community pride, and encourage the participation of our youth


Encourage visitors to treat our area with respect.

Other main initiatives were to coordinate Property Management Planning for local farmers and establish a water quality-monitoring program involving community members & local schools.

Our Group covers the Stanley River catchment and part of the Brisbane River Catchment. We cover an area from Woodford in the east to Moore in the west, Esk to the south and Jimna to the north..
