The magazine's motto "Investments that solve environmental problems" means that to qualify as an environmental investment, the business activity must identify an environmental problem and offer a partial or full remedy.

Commercial activities that are seen as environmentally positive include renewable energies, low carbon energies, waste management and recycling, eco efficient technologies, water management, plantation timber, eco tourism, aquaculture and organic agriculture.
